OFSTED Report – May 2025

We are delighted to share that we have received our Ofsted report following the inspection in May 2025.  The Ofsted inspectors found our school to be Outstanding for its early years provision, for personal development and for behaviour and attitudes. The school also received Good ratings for the quality of education and leadership. A copy of the inspection report, outlining the key findings from the visit, is attached.

The inspection process was thorough, involving a rigorous evaluation of our school’s performance. Inspectors conducted classroom observations, held discussions with staff members, children and parents to hear their experiences and feedback, providing a well-rounded view of the school’s environment.

The report is testament to the hard work of our staff team working in partnership with our children, families, Governors and The Pioneer Academy Trust. We would like to thank you all for being a part of our school community and continuing to work with us to provide the very best opportunities for our children.

Inspectors praised the school for being “welcoming and inclusive”, noting that “pupils are motivated in class and enjoy their learning.” Ofsted also noted that the school’s motto ‘inspire, challenge and engage’ is at the heart of the school and the school’s values are characterised and known by the children, including ‘Truthful Trudy’ and ‘Creative Cam.’

Some of the many other highlights from Ofsted’s report include:

  • Pupils are safe and happy here.
  • Conduct around the school is calm and pupils are courteous.
  • Pupils follow an ambitious curriculum. The school has high expectations for pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Reception and Nursery classes are inviting and engaging and children are keen to explore imaginative activities which build a love of learning.
  • Pupils celebrate difference and enthusiastically take part in events including ‘Culture Day’.
  • Pupils quickly develop their confidence due to the strong pastoral care provided.
  • Reading is a priority of the school. Pupils learn to read accurately and fluently and the school promotes a love of reading.
  • Pupils value their education and attend very well.
  • The school provides a wide range of enrichment activities to enable pupils to engage with the world around them. Pupils develop their talents and interests through an extensive offering of clubs including ballroom dancing, taekwondo, board games and Rubik’s cubes.
  • Staff are committed to the school and feel their well-being is prioritised.

We are incredibly proud of our children and will be sharing the outcome of the report with them on Monday.

We look forward to taking Woodcote Primary School from strength to strength as we work to develop more and more opportunities for our children.
